These are a few tips for playing safe when meeting others.

Sadly there are some people who think that if you are using websites to meet others then you are 100% guaranteed to have sex with them.

Get real please. Only have sex with people who you like the look of, and who turn you on.

If you ever have any doubts about a person you are meeting get out fast.

Here are a few simple tips on how to stay safe:

• Talk to the person before you meet
  • Exchange emails and keep them.
  • Talk on the telephone and keep a record of the persons telephone number.
  • Do not talk if they hide their number.
• Meet in a safe place.
  • Meet in a bar or hotel lounge where there other people
  • Do not meet at your home or another persons home on the first date
  • Make sure that there are quick exit points if you need to get out
  • If you feel threatened go to the bar and order a cab or go to the toilet and hit the back door and get to your car, a taxi, bus or train.
• Keep your home address secret
  • Until you have met and are happy that the person is worth meeting again
  • That the person is not going to stalk you
• Do not agree to sex unless
  • You are attracted to the other person
  • You feel safe with the other person
• Before you meet someone
  • Write a note to a close friend, tell them to open the note if you are not in touch by a set time
    • Tell them who you are meeting
    • Their email address
    • Their phone number
    • The place and time you are meeting
  • If you have decided to go ahead and have sex and are going to miss the time to open the note
    • Send your friend a text or cal them to say you will be later than originally planned and set a new time to open the note.
  •  Make a joke about it with the person you are meeting, so they know they can be tracked if they do turn out to be a nutter.

When I am meeting a guy for the first time I always take my husband along. He does not decide if I have sex with the guys I am meeting, he is simply there until I tell him I want to play with the person alone or that I want to go home. I also call him or text him later to let him know that I am still safe.

Just remember it is better to feel silly and be safe, than to be brave and end up hurt!
